Defensive Carbine Skills Course – Level I

Course Description:
The use of the carbine as a defensive weapon is gaining great popularity. The carbine offers
many advantage over the handgun for home defense, including increased stopping power,
range, stability and versatility. This class will cover proper gun handling and marksmanship with
this weapons system as well as discussion of weapons accessories, modifications and
maintenance. This class is suitable for most popular carbines on the market although much of
the information and discussion will relate to the AR15 style platform. Full caliber carbines or
.22 rimfire clones for those wishing to save ammo costs are acceptable for this course.
Equipment Requirements:
A working Carbine in .223, .30 Carbine, 7.62x39, Pistol Caliber or 22 rimfire
At least 3 Magazines for Carbine
Tactical Sling or Carry Strap
Red-Dot optics recommended
Working Handgun with at least 2 magazines or Speedloaders
Sturdy Belt, Holster and Magazine Pouch
Eye and Ear Protection
Knee Pads recommended for kneeling position shooting
Ammunition: 500 Rounds of Training Ammunition for Carbine, 50 Rounds Handgun

Course Length approximately 8 hours
